It's 2:30 am. The boys went to sleep long before I got home from work at 11:00 pm. The house is quiet. Only the sounds of the air conditioner and Hubby's snoring can be heard.
** Why is it that we have a king-size bed but I barely have enough space to sleep in without falling out of the bed while Hubby lays in the middle?
**Read any good books lately? I was at Mardel a couple weeks ago and picked up a new book. People stop me and ask about it because the front cover only shows the title, "Missouri." I have to explain that it is a collection of four romance novels set in Missouri. The first is set in Jeff City, the second in Columbia. That's all I've read so far. I have NOT been able to put this book down. I thought the first story was captivating and full of suspense. It was written in such a manner that it could have been on the big screen. There were several plot lines that kept you wondering what was going to happen next. I was very put out by the ending though, it felt like the author ran out of inspiration - it abruptly ended. The second novel I read in a only a couple hours. I was six chapters in before I found a good stopping place. Tonight I read from that point to the end of the story. A VERY good story to say the least. It was called "Timing Is Everything." Incredible. The neatest thing about the reading is the deep theological truths that are buried within. In both stories, they were very real-to-life situations, and the author would almost be preaching to the reader through the discussions. Very poignant thoughts based on Scripture. This novelette collection is only $2.99 at Mardel. Pick it up if you're there. Awesome reading.
** I have an itching to bake. Guess I need to have another baking party with my friends. I have several packages of blueberry muffins and even strawberry muffin mix I've picked up thinking I could make them for a nice breakfast treat. Yeah right. I have an inkling to make homemade chocolate chip cookies. Nope haven't done that yet either. I saw a package of red velvet cake mix for only $0.98 at Walmart today. Thought that would make a good treat for the Fourth. We'll see. It all hinders on the fact that I have to clean my oven. Why? Because I was baking Friendship Bread in my oven the other day and it exploded! Yep, exploded. There is bread dough all over my oven. I've cleaned off the racks, but not the floor of the oven. I love the cinnamon smell that you get a whiff of every time you walk past the oven. I'm aiming to clean it tomorrow. I had to buy another package of chocolate chips at Walmart today. Every time I open my pantry they call out my name. Eating two or three at a time, the bag has slowly disappeared. That's how long I've been hoping, trying, wishing to make homemade cookies.
** The fleas are bothering me more tonight that ever. Wednesday cannot come fast enough!!
** Mom and I were eating with Little One tonight at McDs. I asked him to eat more of his burger. His reply... "No Mama. No sandwich Mama!" I've never heard him say sandwich. What a big word for him to use!
** Just after I woke up this morning, Little One came to me and said, "I wanna eat Cheerios Mama." My goodness what a request.
** Does every parent get as many compliments on their kid as we do? Or is Little One the only adorable boy out there? Probably every other aisle at Walmart, "You have such an adorable little boy." Could it also be that we sing as we go to keep him happy? "Sing Mama sing!"
** Ben is at the stage that he "grabs himself" when he has to go potty. I know the sign so I take him potty. Most people would say how awful. I say WOOHOO! He's learning the feeling of having to go potty! More power to you kiddo!
I'm getting tired finally. Time to hit the sack. By the way, our Walmart trip went very smoothly today. Little One did superbly, so well that we actually were there 2.5 hours and I didn't even notice it. The downfall of Walmart... the longer you stay the more you realize you need. Since it's all in one store you go grab it. At least I only get to go "major" shopping once a month or so. Walmart is very dangerous for checkbooks! Night, night friends!
